A Carecenta alternative for home infusion and nursing agencies.
Paloma’s current commercial focus is home infusion and specialty pharmacy nursing. Paloma Cares is a broader healthcare operations platform, with Medicare-certified home health coming next and Paloma Talent providing workforce capabilities for eligible subscribers. This page compares what Paloma and Carecenta each support today, what each is optimized for today, what each costs, and which current workflows matter to your agency.

Two platforms, with different emphasis today.
Carecenta currently emphasizes traditional home-care administration, including electronic visit verification, payroll and electronic payer billing. Paloma’s current commercial focus is home infusion and specialty pharmacy nursing, with workflows built around orders, pharmacy requirements, nursing visits, documentation, staffing and pharmacy billing. Paloma is expanding sequentially, with Medicare-certified home health identified as the next major service line.
Paloma today
Referral intake, orders, scheduling, nurse charting on a phone, DON review, workforce files and readiness, pharmacy invoicing and statements, a pharmacy portal, UB-04 claims, and survey tools. One published price per agency.
Staffing
Paloma Talent is the workforce layer of the platform: from the patient chart, Find Staff checks your own eligible staff first and, with Clinical + Talent, extends to Talent prospects near the patient.
Coming next
Medicare-certified home health is the next major service line. Paloma adds each service line in sequence and to depth, rather than launching every line at once.
Start from the workflows your agency runs this year.
Carecenta describes itself as supporting “the complete long-term care ecosystem with scheduling, EVV, authorizations, electronic billing, payroll, compliance, reporting, portals, payments, training and live support”. Its solutions page presents nine business models and says the same core capabilities power each of them.
Paloma takes each service line to depth before moving to the next. For home infusion that means the pharmacy’s order governs every visit, the nurse charts against the order that is current today, the Director of Nursing reviews every note, each pharmacy gets its documentation back the way it requires, and the invoice is built from reviewed visits at that pharmacy’s contract rate.
So the useful comparison is not which company covers more ground. It is which current workflows your agency depends on, how deeply each product handles them, and what you will pay at the size you expect to be.

Where Carecenta’s site is silent on something, this table is silent too; it does not mean Carecenta lacks it.
If these are immediate requirements.
If state EVV, integrated payroll or electronic payer claims are immediate requirements, Carecenta currently publishes those capabilities. Paloma’s current production focus is elsewhere.
State EVV reporting
Carecenta lists mobile, GPS and telephone visit verification. Paloma supports visit clock-in and clock-out today. State EVV submission is not yet a completed Paloma workflow.
Integrated payroll
Carecenta includes payroll in every package. Paloma exports each pay period today and can connect to your payroll provider by integration.
Electronic payer claims
Carecenta lists clearinghouse workflows and 835 reconciliation. End-to-end electronic payer claim submission is not yet a completed Paloma workflow.
Why agencies choose Paloma.
These describe Paloma. They are not claims about what Carecenta cannot do.
The order governs the visit
Concurrent and revised orders are common. Paloma records which order governs today, the nurse charts against that one, and a dose that does not match is flagged before the note is signed.
Clinical review is built in
Every submitted note reaches a DON review queue. Notes can be returned to the nurse for correction, and only reviewed visits move on to billing.
Invoices from reviewed visits
Reviewed, signed visits become invoice lines at your contract rate. Paloma shows every completed visit that has not yet reached an invoice, and why.
Staffing is part of the platform
Find Staff starts from the patient’s chart and your own eligible staff. With Paloma Talent, the same need becomes a search for prospects near the patient, without sending patient details.
A published, flat price
One price per agency with every Clinical capability included. Adding patients, nurses or office users does not change it, and you can create your agency yourself.
Built from running an agency
Built from real agency operations by Nicodemus (Nick) Obuya, RN, BSN, who owned and operated healthcare agencies from 2008 to 2026: Paloma Home Health (Medicare-certified, CHAP-accredited in 2008; Medicare, Medicaid, VA, home infusions, private pay and private duty), a Dallas-based home health agency, a Dallas private duty agency, and a healthcare staffing agency.

How the two prices work.
Carecenta’s published $99 entry package has a lower starting price and includes up to 12 patients and one office user. Buyers should compare total cost at their expected census, user count and required workflows rather than entry price alone.
| Carecenta (as published October 10, 2026) | Paloma | |

| Patients | Included up to the package limit, with a further monthly fee beyond it. | No patient limit. |
| Office users | Included up to the package limit. Caregivers and nurses are not billed as office users. | No per-user charges. |

Carecenta and Paloma: what agencies ask.
What is the difference between Carecenta and Paloma?
Carecenta currently emphasizes traditional home-care administration, including electronic visit verification, payroll and electronic payer billing. Paloma is a healthcare operations platform whose current commercial focus is home infusion and specialty pharmacy nursing, with workflows built around orders, pharmacy requirements, nursing visits, documentation, staffing and pharmacy billing. Medicare-certified home health is Paloma’s next major service line.
How do Carecenta’s and Paloma’s prices compare?
Both publish prices, and they are structured differently. Carecenta’s packages include a set number of patients and office users and grow from there. Paloma is one flat price per agency that does not change with patients or users. Compare the total cost at the census, user count and workflows you expect over the next twelve months.
Does Paloma include staffing?
Yes. Paloma Talent is part of the platform. Find Staff, inside Paloma Clinical, checks your own eligible staff for a patient’s need. With Paloma Clinical + Talent the search extends to Paloma Talent prospects near the patient, with no placement fee when you hire. Paloma Talent is also available on its own with no monthly fee, where a placement fee is earned only when a candidate we introduced accepts your offer.
Does Paloma submit electronic insurance claims?
Not yet. Paloma’s billing today is pharmacy invoices and statements, and UB-04 claims including VA Community Care. End-to-end electronic payer claim submission is not yet a completed Paloma workflow.
Can Paloma connect to the systems we already use?
Paloma supports its current native workflows and can build third-party API integrations for customer-specific operational needs where the external system supports integration. Examples include payroll providers and background-check services. This is built per customer need; it is not a prebuilt integration marketplace.
Can we move our data from Carecenta to Paloma?
You can move existing agency data into Paloma using bulk import and guided migration workflows. Paloma does not promise to reproduce every record from Carecenta.
Is Paloma affiliated with Carecenta?
Paloma is not affiliated with or endorsed by Carecenta. Product names are used to help buyers evaluate software options.
